Fun in the Rainforest

Our last 2 days with Gran in Ecuador, we loaded up the car and headed to the rainforests of Ecuador.  On the way, we stopped for gas and found our favorite new ice cream bars we discovered on Inca Link's Amazing Race.  Hooray for Big Bars!

First stop in Arasha Resort - swimming pool!

It did not take long until Molly made a new friend.

Jordan is crazy about everything soccer.  Here he is doing a chilena (bicycle kick) into the pool.

The favorite in the pool - being thrown by Daddy

After all that swimming we went to the activity of making your own chocolate.  Here is Gran cooking the cocoa beans.
Grinding up the beans - it is a lot harder than it looks.

The final and most fun step - eating the yummy chocolate!

Playing a little putt-putt golf in the beautiful Amazon Rainforest.

Waiting for the night hike to start...
Torches lit and ready to go

We saw a tarantula, snake, glow in the dark roots, and all kinds of amazing creatures.  These are the things we saw - who knows what we walked by and did not see?!

Sometimes it is the simple things that are the most fun - i.e. singing as loud as you can in the fan!

Happy Father's Day HUG.  Casey is such an incredible dad.  He is Luke, Jordan and Molly's greatest fan.  He loves to play baseball with Luke, soccer with Jordan, and Legos with Molly.  What an amazing role model our kids have in Casey!  He loves them deeply, plays with them, listens and encourages them, and teaches them about Jesus.

Here is our friend we made at the Toucan Hospital.  When we would go by to check on him, he would fly down and put his head out of the fence so we could pet him.

We each made our own ring from a nut

For our final activity, one more trip to the swimming pool.  Fun family memories together - I am so blessed.
