Baseball in Quito

I remember visiting Quito for the first time in September of 2007 for our vision trip to see if this is where God wanted our family to serve.  One of the sweet gifts from God on that trip was discovering that there is baseball in Quito.  Luke loved to play baseball when we lived in Texas and we assumed that he would not get to play again once we moved to Ecuador.  Wrong - I remember being so excited to tell Luke that there IS baseball in Quito.

Here is a snapshot of QYBA (Quito Youth Baseball Association) of Spring 2011

Jordan played machine pitch this season and was on the Cardinals

Jordan playing first base.  Texas A&M's 12th man is represented here in Ecuador by Jordan.  Gig 'em Aggies!
Cardinals!!!

Luke was the youngest player on his team, but he was so excited to finally get to play kid pitch.  He got the opportunity to pitch many games and he loved it.
Luke's team was also called the Cardinals.  Here are a couple of fun videos of Luke playing this season.

Jordan, Nick and Luke - such great friends!  After a great season of baseball, it is fun to be rewarded with a trophy and yummy treats.
