We brought down some of our favorite ornaments when we moved to Ecuador, and it is always such fun to see the baby hand Santas, old pictures, and special gifts from our loved ones.
I remember when the Christmas tree was only decorated on the bottom half because that was as far as they could reach. Now the whole tree is decorated from top to bottom!
Molly carefully putting on the tree Casey's favorite ornament from when he was a little boy. He would rub his face up against the angel's soft hair.
It was Luke's turn to put the angel on top of the tree this year. This was also the first year Casey did not have someone on his shoulders to place the angel on top. I still cannot believe that my Lukey is 12 years old. And the tree is complete! This will be our fourth Christmas in Ecuador. Oh, how we miss being with our family and the many traditions we have back home. Maybe next year we can be home for Christmas - I am pretty sure I said that last year, too. It is hard to justify spending over 5 thousand dollars on plane tickets for 2 weeks. We get to go home every 2 years and our turn is this next summer. So for this Christmas season we have lots of fun activities planned with dear friends and the precious kids at Ganas. Let's remember why we even celebrate Christmas - it is the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
