Casey, Luke, Yeison, Marcelo, Boris and Rocendo headed off early one August Saturday morning to the jungle town of Huaticocha. They stayed overnight and came back to Quito on Sunday evening. All of the Opción de Vida boys were getting ready to start school the next week. This was one last trip for the summer.
They went to scout out some land to possibly buy for the missionary training center. I think there was also some extra time to climb trees, use their machetes, and build a fort.
Here is the church in Huaticocha meeting for their Saturday night worship service. Casey learned quickly to always have a sermon prepared because when he visits, he gets to teach.
God is doing amazing things in Huaticocha. We are excited to see the dream of a missionary training center for the jungle region becoming a reality.

We are so thankful for these young men and for what God is doing at Opción de Vida. The President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, provided a house for the young men of Opción de Vida. All of these guys are now living in Casa Daniel. It can get confusing with all of the "casas" in our lives. At night with our kids we thank God for Casa Elizabeth, Casa Gabriel, and Casa Daniel. We love each and every young man and woman and baby who calls or called one of these "casas" their home.
